We are very excited about our Sunday School program here at Eden! Our desire is to provide children with a fun, safe, and challenging place where they can learn about our Christian faith and what it means to be a follower of Jesus in their everyday lives.
Our Sunday School program at Eden starts at 9:30 on Sunday mornings and we have classes for children from age 2 all the way to grade six. We have set up our curriculum so that we alternate between group Sundays and Sundays where the kids spend most of their time with their teachers and age group. On the group Sunday the kids of all ages are together for about 45 minutes. We sing together, hear a Bible story, and sometimes have a short skit or group prayer time. The kids then spend about 10-15 minutes at a round table with their teacher and have a snack and chat about their weeks. On the following Sunday, we all meet for singing again but after about 20 minutes the kids go to their classrooms. They review the story from the previous week and work in the curriculum books and usually do a craft. We have found that the kids retain quite a bit more when we do the same story two weeks in a row.
We have dedicated teachers who are committed to demonstrating what Jesus means to them and showing the children what the Bible has to teach us. We endeavor to encourage the kids to explore their faith and to learn what a personal faith looks like. Visitors are always welcome and we accept new children at any time throughout the year. If you have any questions feel free to call Mary Barg at 604 792 1089 or email Mary at email@example.com . Hope to see you Sunday morning!
Boys & Girls Club - September to April
This program is for children in grades 3 to 6. The boys can expect to participate in all kinds of fun activities like: floor hockey (and other gym games), wide games, a “shop” night (once a month when they construct a special project for the semester) and a short learning experience based on the Bible to end each evening.
The girls will have the opportunity to participate in activities like: games, “craft” night, baking in our kitchen facilities and a devotion time spent learning about Jesus through the scriptures.
While most of the program the boys and girls club remains separate, there will be a number of special events that the 2 groups will join for such as: the Corn Maze, wide games and other possible field trips.
Our purpose for our clubs programs is to provide a safe, caring environment where boys and girls can grow through friendships, games, life skills and mature in their faith.
Middle & High School Sunday School- Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 10:30 am
Sunday school classes are offered on Sunday mornings for Middle School (grade 7-9) and High School/College & Career (grad 10- post high school). These classes are casual and friendly and offer the opportunity to discuss and learn about faith and culture issues that are relevant and life engaging.
Middle & High School Student Ministries- Tuesday evenings from 7 pm to 8:30 pm
This program is for youth in grades 7 to 12. Each Tuesday evening we come together to learn and grow in our understanding of self and God. This is a safe, fun enviroment where youth will find consistency and support as they encounter life. We will have times of teaching, small groups, games, some outings, times of music and worship, and always have some food to eat while we hang out.
There is no cost to participate in our Student Ministries but there are occasional costs for specific events that we do.
Roller Hockey - Wednesday afternoons from 4 pm to 6 pm
Come join us Wednesday afternoons from 4 pm – 6 pm for our free Roller Hockey program. We have a casual atmosphere for all abilities to play and have fun in a safe environment. All you need to play is a pair of rollerblades, a helmet and a stick. (please inquire if you are unable to play because of equipment issues, we do have some equipment that can be used on a short term basis).
We primarily play outside in our church parking lot where we have a makeshift rink that is seamlessly set up in 10 minutes. If weather is an issue, we move indoors into our lower auditorium which has a perfectly suited surface for 3 on 3 roller hockey.
Roller Hockey is for ages 12 and up (it is a great opportunity for father/son or daughter to play together!). It runs this fall from September to October and begins again in the new year in March.
